    LEAVING  A  LEGACY

    Make a difference for generations.

I believe that we live in a time where many of our young people are absolutely lost. For the most part, as elders, we have abandoned them. It is critical that we offer experiences such as these Viking ship expeditions that provide an alternative to gangs, TV and drug use. We also live in a culture that has abandoned critical rites of passage into adulthood, leaving the young to create their own, often with disastrous consequences. There is no longer anything that marks such a passage, except perhaps unconscious substitutes like how fast one can drive a car or how much beer one can drink. Gang initiations, for example, occur from such a deep psychological need for initiation. But there are answers, excellent answers that do work.

We believe it is also important that our young people experience the out-of doors, and better yet, the wilderness. With all that is going on with the environment today, how can we possibly expect future generations to care about and solve the various problems that our generation has helped to create, if they never have a first hand experience of being in the wild.

It is my hope that you care as much about helping this next generation as I do. I am putting everything I have into this and I hope that you will be able help out. If those of us who understand and care, are willing to step up, we can make a difference.

Help our youth reach their potential.

Donations will be displayed on a "sandwich" billboard on the dock listing all the donors and what they have donated for. Also on the billboard will be facts about the ship and it's construction as well as information about it's educational uses.
